Drama

Curriculum intent

At Broadoak Academy we explore a wide variety of drama and theatre techniques and styles through the development of physical and vocal skills, learning how to work with scripts and devising drama in response to a stimulus. The curriculum is designed to develop a deeper understanding of drama through a series of teacher-led workshops and individual, paired and group learning activities which in turn enable our students to become more reflective, independent and self-directing learners. Through providing an engaging and safe environment, students are able to communicate, cooperate in and explore the world around them with empathy, creativity and confidence.
