Year 11 Final Day Letter for Friday 17th June 2022

Please read below details of the final ‘expected’ day of school for Year 11 this Friday 17th June 2022:

Year 11 Final Day Letter

Dear Year 11 parents and carers,

As we approach the end of the exam period and Year 11’s last ‘expected’ day in school, I would like to inform you of plans for the day – Friday 17th June. After this date, students are only expected to come to school for planned revision sessions, exams and for the Celebration Assembly on Thursday 23rd June.

The plans for this Friday 17th are as follows:

Periods 1 & 2              –           Spanish exam, Dance revision or Science revision

11.05am – 11.40am    –           Tutor time for the final time with Tutors

11.40am – 12.05pm    –           Assembly

12.05pm                      –           Year 11 leave site

There are a very small number of students who will be sitting an exam in the afternoon on Friday. These students are welcome to remain on site in our Learning Resource Centre to carry out final revision for their exam, or they can leave with the remainder of the year group and return to school for the exam in the afternoon.

I must remind students that the day for shirt signing, a time-honoured tradition for Year 11, will be Thursday 23rd. No shirt signing is to be carried out on Friday 17th June. In addition, we ask that students bring a spare shirt for the 23rd for the shirt signing as they will not be permitted to sign shirts that they are wearing. Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation with this.

Finally, and although I will see the students and many of you parents/carers next week, I would like to commend our Year 11 students on how superb they have been throughout this exam period. Today I received a lovely email from our invigilation team commenting on how much of a pleasure it was to work with such wonderful students. They summed up in their feedback exactly how we feel about these young people. I will say more next week, but for now, please give them lots of praise for their approach, attitude and application during this period – they have been fantastic!

Good luck to all our Year 11 students as we enter the final few exams next week. Looking forward to meeting you all next Thursday 23rd for the Leavers Assembly, 11:20am – 12:30pm.
