Broadoak Talks with Tesco PLC Chief People Officer

Broadoak Academy have recently set up ‘Broadoak Talks’, a series of virtual careers events where speakers from different business and community sectors have been invited to talk to Year 10 and Year 11 students about their positions, career paths and to give advice for the future.

On Wednesday 10th February, we were delighted to be joined by Natasha Adams – Chief People Officer at Tesco PLC who gave an inspiring talk regarding her career to date and what it was like to lead a team of over 420,000 employees. Natasha kindly gave our students some brilliant advice for when they apply for employment and how to present themselves at interview.

Natasha advised “grab every opportunity as it comes, it will have some risk with it but it will take you on some adventures, it will help you grow, it will help you learn.” Natasha also answered a number of questions from our students to support their understanding of the world of work and how best to prepare themselves for their next steps.

Mark Tipler, Assistant Principal said “We would like to thank Natasha for giving up her very valuable time and for delivering such a brilliant career talk. It is so important for our students to hear from a variety of sectors and we would welcome any local businesses or member of our community who would be interested in coming to talk with our students.” If you would be interested in being a speaker for our upcoming Broadoak Talks events, please email: [email protected] or call 01934 422000
