School uniform/PE Kit
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Re: School Uniform/ PE kit
We are writing to you regarding the importance of our school uniform, which plays a vital role in maintaining a positive and conducive learning environment for all our students.
At Broadoak Academy, we firmly believe that wearing a school uniform fosters a sense of belonging and equality among our students. Additionally, it prepares students for their future professional lives, where adhering to a dress code is often a requirement in various workplaces.
We kindly request your support in ensuring that your child adheres to the school uniform policy. Our uniform is as follows:
On non-PE days:
• Broadoak academy blazer
• White shirt
• House tie
• Black trousers or skirt
• Black polishable shoes
On PE days:
• Broadoak Polo or rugby shirt
• Black shorts or tracksuit trouser
• Broadoak PE hoodie (optional and for PE only)
Jewellery:
• No Jewellery should be worn, apart from small ear studs, to a maximum of two per ear lobe, though pupils may be required to remove these for some activities. No ‘ear stretchers’. No facial jewellery is allowed, including nose studs or tongue piercings. Watches are permitted.
Our full uniform guidance can be found at:
https://broadoakacademy.clf.uk/our-academy/uniform/
School uniform should be worn every day unless a student has PE in which case full PE kit should be worn, a hybrid of PE kit and uniform is not acceptable on any day.
An important change for Term 3 onwards:
Students will no longer be able to wear PE kit to school on days they have afterschool clubs.
For these clubs, they must bring their PE kit to school in their bag and the opportunity to change will be provided. Specific arrangements will be made directly with those students who attend our lunch time gym club.
Below is our current timetable for PE. Should this change at any point, for any reason, we will let you know.
All non-school uniform items (including coats/jumpers) must be removed inside the academy building.
We understand that occasionally circumstances may prevent adherence to the uniform policy. If this is the case, we urge you to communicate with your child’s house team in advance. In circumstances where a student does not have the correct uniform for the day ahead, we will provide the uniform items required to ensure the student can begin their day. Should we be unable to provide uniform, we will communicate with families to support a resolution.
We appreciate your cooperation and support in this matter. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the school uniform policy, please do not hesitate to contact the school office or your child’s tutor/house team.
Yours sincerely,
Mr M Tipler
