School Uniform

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we end a very successful Term 1, we are writing to you regarding the importance of our school uniform, which plays a vital role in maintaining a positive and conducive learning environment for all our students.

We also firmly believe that our school uniform fosters a sense of belonging and equality among our students. Additionally, it prepares students for their future professional lives, where adhering to a dress code is often a requirement in various workplaces.

It is important therefore that you support us in ensuring that your child adheres to the school uniform policy. Our uniform is as follows:
On non-PE days
• Broadoak academy blazer
• Plain black jumper (no branding)
• White shirt
• House tie
• Black trousers or skirt
• Black polishable shoes (not trainers)

On PE days:
• Broadoak polo or rugby shirt
• Black shorts or tracksuit trouser
• Broadoak PE hoodie (optional and for PE only. Not to be worn with normal non-PE uniform)

Jewellery:
• No Jewellery should be worn, apart from small ear studs, to a maximum of two per ear lobe, though pupils may be required to remove these for some activities. No ‘ear stretchers’. No facial jewellery is allowed, including nose studs or tongue piercings. Watches are permitted.

Our full uniform guidance can be found at: https://broadoakacademy.clf.uk/our-academy/uniform/

Full school uniform should be worn every day unless a student has PE in which case full PE kit should be worn, a hybrid of PE kit and uniform is not acceptable on any day.

All non-school uniform items (including coats/jumpers) must be removed inside the academy building.

We understand that occasionally circumstances may prevent adherence to the uniform policy. If this is the case, we urge you to communicate with your child’s house team in advance. In circumstances where a student does not have the correct uniform for the day ahead, we will communicate and work with families to rectify this before the student begins their learning.

We appreciate your support with ensuring our students present themselves in the correct school uniform each day. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the school uniform policy, please do not hesitate to contact the school office or your child’s tutor/house team.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Tipler
