GCSE success for Broadoak students

GCSE success for Broadoak students

Broadoak Academy students have yet again attained very well in the 2025 GCSE exams, with grades 9-4 in the basics (English and maths) improving for a third year in a row.

School leaders attributed the success to the hard work, dedication, and resilience of Broadoak’s ‘wonderful’ students, as well as the unwavering support of parents/carers, and the formidable work of staff in doing everything they can to support students to these outcomes.

Danny McGilloway, Principal of Broadoak Academy, said: “I could not be prouder of the way in which our students have conducted themselves throughout the whole examination season.

“Our results today are the product of two years of challenging GCSE courses, but five years of hard work and dedication. Our young people truly are amazing, and I take my hat off to them, to their families for their ongoing support, and to our staff for their endless endeavours to drive our young people to achieve the best they can, setting them up for the next stage of their journeys.

“The year 11 students were focused and determined. It was a joy to share this journey with them and to be able to celebrate with them. This truly is a wonderful community to be part of and wish them well as they begin the next phase of their education.

“A huge thank you to everyone – our hard work, our togetherness and community spirit are bearing fruit!”

The team at Broadoak are proud of all students; however, the following students deserve a special mention due to their exceptional outcomes: Johnny C, Breeze G, Emily McG, Nayin Shafir, Monty R, Aayan S, Vajra V, Caleb N.

All attained grades 9-7 across most or all of their subjects; an outstanding achievement. Broadoak wishes all of students the very best now as they move forward from here.

Broadoak’s students were among nearly 2,000 young people across the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) who received their results today – with many celebrating outstanding results and getting set for the next stage of their education.

CLF Deputy CEO Sally Apps said: “As a trust we would like to extend our congratulations to the 1,994 students who are receiving their GCSE and equivalent qualifications today.

“These are the result of considerable effort, diligence and determination and the results celebrated today are opening the door to a range of excellent onward destinations for our young people who have studied at our mainstream and specialist schools.

“It is with considerable gratitude to our staff and parents that we celebrate, knowing that these outcomes are achieved as a result of a considerable team effort.
